Subject description: Instant Internet Messenger

A fork of pidgin which aims to provide minor features that have not been addressed by the pidgin development team (including manual textbox resizing).

Carrier can be downloaded here and is about 10MB stripped: http://www.mediafire.com/file/4zkhhcvnpsedzi6/carrier-2.7.8small.pet

The newest version had issues that had to be addressed before compiling but were all fixed and should install and run just fine. Is a great alternative to Pidgin and works and looks almost exactly the same but with alot of the features that were taken out of the original project along with some new features.

Added Pidgin Off-the-record messenger plugin for pidgin and Carrier pets. both the library and otr itself are required for the plugin

Quote:
Off-the-Record (OTR) Messaging allows you to have private conversations over instant messaging by providing:

Encryption
No one else can read your instant messages.
Authentication
You are assured the correspondent is who you think it is.
Deniability
The messages you send do not have digital signatures that are checkable by a third party. Anyone can forge messages after a conversation to make them look like they came from you. However, during a conversation, your correspondent is assured the messages he sees are authentic and unmodified.
Perfect forward secrecy
If you lose control of your private keys, no previous conversation is compromised.

Edit: posted the library twice by accident, has been corrected.

I am typing in Carolina now. There is a Pidgin for Carolina but without the
OTR / encryption plugins which are needed for private communication on the facebook platform. These plugins have currently arrived at version 4

Is there somebody willing to make pets for it?
