Search the web from the Puppy console

If you want to search directly from the Puppy terminal install the following small pet packages in this order from here:
http://50.87.144.111/~puppy/tronkel/bashprep-1.0.pet

http://50.87.144.111/~puppy/tronkel/pupclsearch-1.0.pet

To do a Google search just type google "search term" (no quotes).

It also does the following searches from
bing, yahoo, wiki, amazon and leo - just type the search engine name as appropriate followed by you search term. No apostrophies in your search term though.

This script modifies your /root/.bashrc file, so the first pet makes a backup of this file.

No Joy on Puppy 525 [ Kernel 2.6.33.2 ]. BTW I don't have seamonkey installed.

If you open your /root/.bashrc you can replace text instances of seamonkey with whatever browser you use as default and then save the changes, log out and then log back in again.

If you have a default browser set you can also replace the seamonkey text with defaultbrowser.

Reading the above I though your pet was itself a primitive browser, rather than a way of launching ones existing browser from CLI.

[ I'm keen to find ways to escape my filter bubble , uncommon browsers can help with that ]
