Don't know if this is obvious but it had me scratching my head for a while so I thought I would share the info.
I run Windows XP at work as my Host OS. I installed Virtual Box with the idea of running Puppy off my bootable USB stick. The bios in the Virtual Box guest OS doesn't support USB booting so I followed this HOWTO at
http://www.pendrivelinux.com/boot-a-usb ... irtualbox/
This makes the USB drive appear as a SATA drive to Virtual Box. Puppy now booted but only part of the way with the following error.
Searching for Puppy files in computer disk drives...
Searching deeper, sub-sub-folders in partitions... lupu_528.sfs not found. Dropping out to initial-ramdisk console ...
/bin/sh: can't access tty; job control turned off

After alot of playing around I found I had to type at the "boot:" prompt "puppy pmedia=atahd" and everything now works!
Have a nice day!
