Hi, can anyone else confirm that 412 Collection UK is down? I have tried for two days to access it with no luck. Thanks, Rob

Hi Rob

No, its not been down as far as I know and I usually check it on a daily basis. The stats are showing visitors every day for the last seven days. I suspect its just a glitch.

As an after thought. The web stats for 412collection are with Statcounter and if you are using a hosts file in the /etc folder to block advertisers this may prevent 412collection form being accessible. If this is so, search through your hosts file for 'statcounter' (without the quotes) and remove that entry.

Check the post above yours again, I suspect this may be the problem if you have some form of adblock installed.

I have removed the Statcounter code from the 412collection. Could the guys that are unable to access 412collection try again and post back here if you are able to access 412collection or not.

I will remove the Statcounter code permanently. Although it was nice to see who visits 412collection but its more important that visitors can actually access the site.

Access to 412collection

#30 Post by tuxtoo »

Hi Rob

I removed the Statcounter code which was an external statistics service to 412collection and I know Statcounter can block access if you have some form of ad blocking on your PC.

I have now added Crazystats which is a php script that runs on the 412collection server and, as far as I am aware, should not cause any access problems for visitors.

Just in case this is what is causing the problem I have removed this code as well and it is 6:40PM UK time here. So can you have another go at accessing 412collection and let me know how you get on.

I am also in the process of adding a guestbook which has been installed on the server but this is not accessible from the the website just yet and I will wait until you have access before implementing it. Although I don't think this should cause any access problems.

Thanks for your patience. Stuart

For what it's worth, no problem accessing your site from here.

Thanks for that. I checked the web stats before I removed the relevant bit of code and visitors were accessing the site today. I'm at a loss to what the problem is for oligin10

Not sure what my problem is either

#33 Post by oligin10 »

Hi guys, I can't figure out what is happening either. I have tried from multiple browsers on multiple operating systems. Occasionally I can get in, but again tonight at 11:30 my time, I can't get in. Thanks, Rob

Just a thought on this. The reason for intermittent access to 412collection may be due to me using a free web host. Which in the scheme of things is a strong possibility. Although to be fair, the web hosting company has given me free hosting for almost three years with absolutely no hassle. Which can't be bad. Its not all free, I do pay for the domain name, but not a lot. I know, I know. What a cheapskate.

UPDATE

For those who have difficulty accessing http://412collection.co.uk I have mirrored 412 Collection on Dropbox and the link is -

and a somewhat more convenient shortened link (takes you to the same location as above) - http://bit.do/412web
