I have a couple of VCDs and I can't play them. I do see a menu with a bunch of files, including some with the .vcd extension. Clicking on them doesn't do anything useful, neither does opening them with vlc.
Not only Puppy has problems, I tried to open them in Windows XP with the same results.
There is a mention somewhere that they are White Book 1.0 standard.
console output for mplayer:
How do you play VCDs? {solved}

*IF* the file's OK, VLC plays this extension >> 'advanced' open file.
Otherwise it's: (g)xine vcd://track_number or vcdxrip..
