I've been thinking about this for a while before I found this thread... I've got a site that I am willing to host all these old ISOs on... details below.
Site: Puppylinuxarchive.org
FTP login information:
Code: | site: ftp.puppylinuxarchive.org
port:21
user: upload@puppylinuxarchive.org (you need the full address)
pass: p.l.a |
I'll make a front page when I get time, and then move the uploads to another directory so no one can delete them.
Glad to see the puppylinux.ca site back... But we could always use a good mirror in case it goes down again.
Btw... anyone have Boxpup 4.12?

I asked Barry Kauler if he had any of the missing Puppies.
Unfortunately, he didn't.

Do you happen to have a Puppy Linux 0.1, 0.2 or 0.3 iso?
If you don't, that's okay.
Thanks
Barry Kauler responds:
No, 1.0.8 was the earliest that I saved, it is somewhere on my site bkhome.org or puppylinux.com

@Q5sys ,
Please download all the /vintage stuff I have...and hold it safe!!
When I find a good admin or someone that's interested in spending massive amounts of time they can start rebuilding again with the .ca/asia domains.
So far it's holding the domains with my old files....maybe a rebirth of .ca if smokey or russoodle needs a space.
I can also point the domains to a solid site if there are GOOD controls.
Keep the faith.

No problem man. I'll start on that this weekend. I didnt want to start raping peoples bandwidth leeching their files until I had gotten the go-ahead.

No worries Q5sys,
Contact CatDude as he may have more files that need a home.
If anyone needs some "dinero" to help pay for bandwidth, myself and a few others may be able to help "back-up" files...ty

At what version did a corresponding devx become available? I note that 1.0.7 as provided by Caneri has that. Useful to be able to compile on these old puppies.

Hi mcewanw,
Long time no see.
Some of the files on http://www.puppylinux.ca/vintage/
have no md5sum attached. When I found the files years ago there were no md5sum.txt files available for some files.
I have a request.
When someone tests an iso or devx and it's a good working file, would you generate an md5sum.txt file so I can upload it to /vintage. I haven't tested many of the files so it would be good to know they are intact.
This should generate an md5sum from the file in question. Just open a terminal in the directory that holds the iso or devx file.
Code: | md5sum any.iso > any.iso.md5.txt |
Thanks in advance,
Eric
