MUT doesn't recognize SCSI. What to do?

#1 Post by Hans Koblet »

Media Utility Tool 0.1.1 : My newly installed live-CD-Puppy does not recognize any SCSI devices, only the IDE devices. What can I do, since I have both types of buses in my PC ?

Thank you.

Barry doesn't have any scsi hardware to test and I don't have any spare cards and cables to send him - only drives. This issue is, I think, still under long term consideration. Until then you will need to use DSL, which is one of the very few distros to recognise scsi. It's worth sticking with old scsi devices because of their quality, speed and reliability. HD installation to scsi is especially appropriate because bus speed is the main limitation in older systems. There are tons of superb old scsi kit available gratis in discarded servers.
