Wireless access with 802.11n

Hello everybody:

I'm new at this forum and with this 'puppy linux' and my problem is with internet speed.

I've got FTTH (optic fibre) so my speed is 100Mb/s.

My problem is with the connection. I' ve got wireless acces with 802.11n but puppy works at 20Mb/s, that is with 802.11g.

How can I obtain the n support??
I can't download the original drivers for linux from conceptronic because my wireless card is descatalogued and no supported.

With other linux versions I have no problem.

How can I obtain my full speed ????

I'm using Frisbee to setup my connection
I connect via USB
My Wireless USB adapter is:
150n Wireless USB Adapter 3.5 dBi CONCEPTRONIC
(MAX 150Mb/sec)

I tried to search drivers for linux at conceptronic web-site, and in the Included drivers cd, but I only found for Windows (diff versions)

What tool are you using to set up the connection?

What driver are you currently using?

What chip set is the wireless device, does it connect via USB?

Ok multiple posts will just get someone whining at you .

A quick search suggests CONCEPTRONIC use ralink

It may be the case that the open source driver does not support n mode as seems to be the case for you. The hopeful news is the proprietry driver from ralink themselves may do so..I have a Ralink dongle and the included ralink drivers had n support but my router did not lol.

What needs to be determined is the specific card inside the device... lspci with it plugged in is supposed to reveal all.There is hardinfo in puppy too. Or dmesg might give a clue. Or perhaps see what it says in windows if you are stuck. Once you have that info you may find a driver already built here or at least some sources from ralink directly (the are fairly good with linux support) that a driver can be built from (others may help you with that if you post a request.)

So more info needed basically

Jemimah's Frisbee network tool has a button named 'Diagnostics'. If you click on it you will be able to 'Generate a Diagnostic Data' report.

He never went for that!

HOW TO INSTALL THIS DRIVER:

My wifi card is "ID 148f:3370 Ralink Technology, Corp."

It is a usb stick

The driver it uses is rt2800usb.

This firmware comes preloaded since kernel 2.6.31. but it doesn't work with puppy.

Can you explain me why??

Going back to your original question this driver might well be necessary to enable n mode....its all in one so no extra firmware needed.

Search the forum for it...I there is a good chance someone has built it for your kernel.

just an afterthought...some pups have the sta driver so might just be worth trying to choose a different driver from the network wizard...
