ctrl+alt+del reboots I need to poweroff How?[Solved]

#1 Post by nooby »

Is there no key combination for to poweroff at the console?

I don't want to use the mouth because without Glasses Spectacles
I don't see Menu and Cursor and can not hit the right buttons and click
but on keyboard it is easy to enter console by ctrl+alt+backspace
and then do ctrl+alt+del which I thought should do a proper shut down
and then power off instead it do a proper shutdown and reboot.

So what is the correct keyboard sequence

Yes I ahve googled.

Mike thanks. That worked like a blast :)
One need to reboot in between for it to take.
But after that it just works. Much appreciated.

Mike what about this file then?

inittabPREV1

I changed the command in that one too.
when does that one get read? Don't I have to change that one?
Should I change it back to reboot? Would that create some lock up conflict?

inittabPREV would be an old version and not used so just ignore it.

Glad it worked.

I think there is only one shortcut for busubox init but it can have multiple actions

Mike I tested to rename it to inittabPREV1old
and nothing bad did happen so you got that right too :)

Much appreciated that cared and told me about this work around.
