Interesting that the majority of the innovation has moved to the user. The development team focuses on tasks like drivers and debugging tools.
This exactly parallels the development of puppy linux...a great set of tools which attracts innovative users in a community setting. Propitiatory systems will never be able to compete with open source over the long term. (at least not when we have 12 year olds winning software competitions like the $1,000,000 challenge award at Chromium).
