I am assuming you mean the text editor. Would you please explain your situation further so that we can understand your question better and hopefully provide you with a good answer...

Thanks,
Monsie

Recently found this little text editor and quite liked it. I was going to add an e3 page to the wikka. I was just trying to gain a little insight as to its out of the box availability with puppy as a whole.

e3 is the default editor in the initrd.gz . Statically compiled for use in the ram disk shell instead of vi(m), ed, nano and such .

Every regular Puppy ships with it by default, it is also in the pup[py][-_].*.sfs .

Of course because of the many strip down derivates - no guarantee for these .

The links in /bin e3em e3ne e3pi e3vi e3ws are for different modes as far as I know ,
but i am only using it as
# e3 /path/to/file
- so cannot say anything about the different modes .

I am mainly using the mp editor outside the ram disk for console viewing / editing outside X .

Will follow your wiki to learn more about e3 :)
