I am going to buy a Linux reference book for console commands. I am thinking of a mini-reference book. I can not afford sixty dollars for one of the larger Linux books. It has been frustrating tryiing to work without a reference book. Can anyone suggest a good book to buy, or avoid?
Thanks for replying.
Suggestions for a mini-reference for Linux console commands?

I'd suggest taking a look at the rute guide before buying anything.

I use the ABS-Guide and have also downloaded (ahem) the contents of the BASH section of the Simon Sheppard website...

Thanks everyone.
Thanks for the replies.
Insofar as e-books of Linux. My worst problems occur when my computer is not cooperating. I do have another computer. Just takes a lot of trouble to turn it on. Perhaps move telephone wires around. Plus. Something about my failing vision makes it uncomfortable to use ebooks on a smaller monitor while standing up. Maybe I am just old fashioned and want a book in my hand. Sometimes all I feel I need is a syntax guide to a command I think I know. Ha ha ha ha.
The Rute guide looks very interesting. When I checked the price on Amazon I was surprised to find it almost affordable.
I saw a review on the O'Reilly guide on Linux. The reviewer said he was very positive on nearly all the O'Reilly guides. He felt this Linux O'Reilly had several problems. Failed to provide enough info on some commands. Too much info on things a person would rarely do. He felt the writer was very competent and said he personally hoped that the writer would do a second edition and fill in the areas of commands hthe reviewer felt were more important, but not fully documented.
There are several other Linux guides on Amazon that are nearly affordable. I see a Linux Bible coming out in January 2007 which is much larger than what I had in mind. The Linux Bible might cause me harm in carrying it around my apartment. I will look forward to seeing the reviews on it.
The link provided by Lobster certainly fits the bill of providing overwhelming ebooks on Linux. Makes me look a little silly for even asking about a Linux guide on paper. Lobsters knowledge always seems to dwarf my questions.
