How to disable autosave in Slacko 5.5?

I'm running Slacko-5.5XL and would like to know if there is a pup-mode or Event Manager that performs a Save on "Logout" only. Presently, the Saves are every 30 minutes, and the auto-shutdown is also configured at 30 minutes of inactivity.

IOW, does shutdown auto-save, even if I were to set Saves at zero minutes?

There is a program called pupsaveconfig that does what you want.

You may need to add a parameter to the grub menu.1st file so that it thinks it is a flash drive. Off the top of my head, I think it is pfix=ataflash.

There have been numerous changes to the behavior. In the thread-link, such a zero setting did not save at shutdown when set to zero.

It appears that the slacko-5.5 does save at shutdown even if set to zero. I noticed the script-box was different in verbosity. I tried this on a short login and altered nothing, and the system did save to USBFlash.

Trouble with lots of reading is most if it doesn't apply to the distro at hand. This is why I'm having problems installing to an ATA-HDD labled SSD. Either as Internal Flash, or internal HDD, I can't get puppy to boot, even with boot-flag.

2. To make "Don't save..." the default at the shutdown choice.
And...

3. If, at each bootup, you get the spurious warning that the previous shut-down of Puppy was improper...

Thanks for that. It appears that setting to zero is what I want in Slacko-5.5XL, namely to only save at "Logout > PowerOff", or whenever I click the Save button on d-top.
