Monsie, this is a very non-technical way to describe potential features. Wary is simply too old and being 32 bit will never be an advantage for most of us.

You can't upgrade parts of it until it replaces Slacko and Precise in terms of functionality, because that's Racy.

Hi Igu, been a while! I did a wall for community edition back in the day:

If there is interest I can make other colors/aspect ratios.

iguleder

why dont you

keep the basic puppy structure of racy

keep the apps you want from racy

put your 64 bit stuff in

upgrade the stuff you need to

and make a 64 bit CE puppy

The answer is very obvious - Racy is 32 bit and I want a pure 64 bit Puppy built with Woof (namely, Slacko) , not a Racy remaster.

One of woof-CE's goals is 64 bit support. 01micko is working on a 64 bit Woof and I'm working on a new, independent, core package set for Puppy, based on musl and tinyxserver.

Hi, tubeguy.

Is that milk in the bowl? Puppies get sick drinking milk!
This is PuppyLinux, you know, not KittyLinux! :D (chuckle)

But dogs are mammals, unless you mean puppies get sick drinking moo milk. this image could be adapted for pussylinux.

Hi, darkcity.

Yes, I meant "moo" milk. ;) Moo milk gives puppies worms apparently.

Best regards.

Hello again, darkcity and all.

Maybe something like this, to illustrate community work?

Image

(That's me, first head left, second row! wanderer is the lead dog in front.
Also notice: everybody is smiling!) ;) :D

There's lots more dog teams pictures at
http://www.dogpile.com/search/images?fc ... +teams&ql=

Just a thought.

tubeguy musher0 and everyone

please post your artwork
and state that you would like to submit it for inclusion
in the Community Edition

we will gather it together
and put it in a pet (or just a folder)
that can be added to
both CE 32 and CE 64
as they develop

thanks

Might be beer. Hard to tell in this light. :D
Anything of mine can be used, it would be an honor.

Hello, all.

Re-reading from this message
http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic. ... ost#738348
down to the bottom of p. 20 of this current thread.

Lots of connected subjects there.
I'm just a power user, so some of the argumentation is beyond me.

But to come back on static linking:
1) how is it done, in a nutshell? References and/or how-tos about doing it
__ would be much appreciated.
2) does that mean one can take, e.g., abiword 3.0, compile it "statically",
__ complete with plug-ins, and be able to use it in wary 5.5? A complete
__ abiword would certainly be good to include.

Same for the most recent programs, such as gnumeric, and perhaps
other major opensource/gpl business apps.

I mean: this community Puppy shouldn't forget the small office/home
office operators, and equip them with solid apps. I came up with an
"menu-app" for SOHO's on the French side; if people are interested,
it shouldn't be too difficult to translate it into English. (In addition to
planner, osmo, etc., already present in Puppy.)

Also, speaking of "community", maybe include a couple of things for
real "community groups" managers / users.

Just a few thoughts. BFN.

Off subject:
Stange... According to the forum, my post above and this message were
written 45 minutes after I really wrote them... I must be living in the past! :D
It has also been said however that Ottawa, Canada, was a backward place...
 Oh, well...

Well obviously a space-time filament of some sort has intersected your location and a bit of frame dragging disturbed the continuum.
