How to use Tenda W322U Wifi adapter in Wary 5.5? (Solved)

Hi there I have been running Wary 5.5 for about a month now and I am very impressed about how well it runs on my old Dell dimension 3000 however I cannot figure out how to install my Tenda Internet Adapter onto it. How can I install the driver onto it?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

In other words, djwilsondylan, you shouldn't have to install anything in Lucid to use the Tenda adapter.

Under Puppy Lucid, the compatible driver will be one of the vendor-supplied ones from Ralink, which I originally posted here -

But hopefully the latest Lucid variants will contain those drivers already.

Since the compatible driver will be a vendor-supplied version from Ralink, the interface is more likely to show up as "ra0".

Use Frisbee to connect.

The (full) Network Wizard will work fine in 99% of instances.

No. The idea that Wary is faster on old computers is IMO nothing more than an overhyped myth. You will only get a noticeably faster experience from the old 2.x series and 1.x series Puppies.

Not necessarily. A while back I tried using Puppy on an old emachine (Socket 370 Celeron, 256 MB's of memory and a Radeon 7500 PCI video card) and I did see a difference between Wary 5.3/5.5 and Lucid, the latter being a bit slower and heavier. It was enough to where it was noticeable.

I respect everyone's different experiences, and I have noted your comments for future reference.
My own experience, and observations, with Lucid versus Wary are based on using both on a Pentium2-350 (rather archaic, no?) with nVIDIA graphics - and my comments stand.

Modern ATi graphics devices ("modern" by standards of the time) were never very well supported in Lucid, and this might be the critical difference with "speed" or "responsiveness".
If you were to install the ATi vendor-supplied "fglrx" Xorg driver, this might make all the difference -

Ok, so I downloaded and burned super lupu to a CD and everything worked perfectly and it doesn't slow down my machine however I cannot still get on to the Internet. I have tried the appropriate connection wizards. In the simple Internet connection wizard it says failed to activate interface.

What's does this mean and should I install any drivers?

Yep, that's definitely supported by the rt3370sta vendor-supplied driver,
and I thought that all versions of Lucid from 5.28 onwards should contain this driver already ?
... but since you still have no success, I recommend you install the older rt3070sta driver from here -

Several forum members reported to me that this works much better with "middle-era" Ralink RT3070 based devices.
