What works, and doesn't, for you. Be specific, and please include Puppy version.

[solved] puppy 3.01 samsung s19A450bw not working with xorg

#1 Post by Dingo »

update!

solved ugrading xorg to 7.3 but still unhappy with colors (bad) and thin vertical white lines in flat colors

Dear Puppian friends, I was constrained to change monitor few days ago

previously I owned a beautiful HANNS-G HB171A

that worked very fine with xorg

this new monitor

samsung s19A450bw

when I try to use with xorg, gives black screen, so I needed to use XVESA instead

i was very unhappy, one of most evident, until now, disadvantages is that the shortcut
i used in xorg to recall last terminal command (the arrows on keyboard), THAT WITH xvesa, are not working (I must use crtl+p and crtl+n)

another annoying thing I discovered is that I cannot use the upper arrow key to scroll toward up the text, only the lower arrow key

is there anyone that had my same problems or that knows how to solve and make this monitor working with xorg?

I'm working in Puppy 3.01 (beloved pup)

UPDATE!

I just tried Puppy 4.3.1 this Puppy version works fine with samsung s19A450bw with xorg, maybe this can be related to newer xorg version? Can I upgrade xorg in puppy 3.01 to get working with this monitor?
replace .co.cc with .info to get access to stuff I posted in forum
