I still am using Puppy.

I am trying out Mint.

Response from the forum have been sparse.

I tried this command so their File Manager would let me view all directories and partitions.

chown -R fixit /root

Is there a way to be prompted only once for my password during one session ?

It gets kinda old typing in my password for every file I want to delete etc.
Smile

Thanks gentlemen,
Andy

Have you tried sudo root to identify yourself as root?
chown normally is used to change ownership attribute of a file.

I found a Konsole as root app and was able to take ownership of all files.
