booting up as user!=root? puppy slacko-5.6

I've tried writing a script for the startup folder-but it failed terribly. Can I create my own user, or are the preferred ones my only choice? I am an amateur. Can I easily put a password onto any of my users, inc root?

For the most part Pup IS a *developers* style distro. The topic has been questioned and addressed many times.

On the other hand, yes, you can passwd the root account with the standard BusyBox bin version: passwd root

The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.
