Plans on updating Rox-Filer?

#1 Post by Bancobusto »

Hey, I was just wondering if there are any plans to put a newer version of rox-filer in any future Puppy releases.

It seems quite superior, I'm not sure how much bigger it is, maybe that's the important concern, I don't know.

Just curious on what people's thoughts are on this :D

edit: it seems to be able to display svg files, which is cool because my extensive icon collection seems to contain a fair amount of them.....

Also, seems to render icons and pixmaps more clearly, somehow

Combine Author with Keyword to narrow forum search

#4 Post by Flash »

I stumbled onto a way to use the forum search that worked well, in this case at least. I was pretty sure that Barry had posted an answer to your question in a previous thread, so I put 'BarryK' in the 'Search for Author' window, and 'ROX' in the 'Search for Keywords' window, and there were only about 3 posts that overlapped. Almost too easy! :)

Works well if you know the name of someone who's mentioned the topic that yer on about....

However, I must admit that I find the search function annoying - not that it doesn't display relevent info, just that it doesn't seem to work all that well all the time....

Oh well, nothing's perfect, and neither am I hahhah
