Belkin F5D7011 in Wary 5.5
Hello I have a Dell Latitude C600 with a Belkin F5D7011 PCMCIA card. Can you tell me how can I get it to work in Wary 5.5?
I'm a total linux noob so please try to give DETAILED instructions on how to get it to work (if possible). Thanks for your time.

I use a Belkin F5D6050 USB wireless adapter to connect wirelessly to the net and most/all Puppy's don't seem to support that. I had to install a PET that contained a driver for the adapter, create a savefile and reboot - after which the adapter was detected OK
Probably wont work, but your welcome to try the PET I use to install the Belkin driver https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4MbXu ... sp=sharing
I also have this driver in my library https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4MbXu ... sp=sharing not sure why, but likely there's no harm in adding drivers (just take up relatively little space that's never used)).
Just copy your savefile to a backup version before trying things, so that you can revert back again afterwards if things don't work out.

Hi all..
According to this page...

neither driver will work, that is if the PCMCIA adapters use the same chipsets.
@JohnnyBoyRO: Would you open a terminal and post the output of...
Installing "Sakura" from the Puppy Package Manager might make copying and pasting easier.
Thanks and welcome to the forums.

Both of those download links provide copies of firmware packages (not drivers) that I originally contributed elsewhere on this forum.rufwoof wrote:Probably wont work, but you're welcome to try the PET I use

Neither is relevant to JohnnyBoyRO's Belkin F5D7011, which should contain a Broadcom chipset.
Almost correct, but not quite - the "cardctl" command is way outdated. It's been replaced by "pccardctl".ardvark wrote:Would you open a terminal and post the output of...Code: Select all

JohnnyBoyRO, please open a terminal, and run this command instead -
Code: Select all
pccardctl ident
If you get no result, please try resetting the card by unplugging it, then plugging it back in. Then run the command again.

Hi tempestuous
They joined at the start of April, one post and no more. I guess they tried Puppy, didn't like it because it didn't instantly work for them and have moved on. Typical of many of the younger generation - looking for instant reward, impatient to move on to the next thing/click.
I've seen some of that myself when Puppy boots to a black screen due to nvidia - rather than finding out that a simple nouveau.modeset=0 boot parameter might do the trick instead the patience level is nigh on zero - they lose interest and they move on to one of the other hundreds of choices.
