Posted to the first page. They'll also be mirrored in the folder versioni precedenti as a second download source. Congratulations, we can now say that you're the official maintainer of the Italian langpack. :D Translations contributed by users can be shared here or in the Italian Puppy forum for you to include them in the next versions of the packages.

Hi all, welcome1stboot (slacko570) was translated but don't works.... the .mo file is now in LC_messages and not works again... for me is impossible to edit it.....
However, half of the translation is correct, the other can not understand where it comes from

Resume:
there are differences (text) between 'welcome1stboot' for slacko and precise:

precise:

slacko:

I think so, has been forgotten to enter the exact code for translation in these files ... just the second dialog box ...

FOUND IT! 'welcome1stboot.pot' is not the right version, it is the older version of slacko560!

@L18L. you can solve it?

My solution or maybe just a work around is having all different messages for puppy and slacko and quirky:

Update menu entries & fix

langpack_it-20140510 : https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bz9e78 ... sp=sharing

langpack_woofce_it-20140510 : https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bz9e78 ... sp=sharing

Hi L18L, :D
I tried to edit the menu entries with momanager-20140326/momanager-20140309 but does not save (I cleaned tmp, saved the source files into 'application' and 'application.in') and not appear the 'green dialog box OK'
...instead it works with momanager-20131015 (not works in slacko570)

where am I wrong?

if it is, how to translate? it is an ELF 32-bit LSB executable, Intel 80386? how can I edit it?

if it is not you know how to do?

When right-clicking a .pet file (or another file type) the menu shows items which are stored in sub-directories of directory:

/root/.config/rox.sourceforge.net/OpenWith

For a .pet file it would be directory:

/root/.config/rox.sourceforge.net/OpenWith/.application_pet

Inside of such directory you'll find some symbolic links which aren't translated by the functions of any langpack.

In my OS the symbolic link for a .pet package to be extracted by right-click option is:

/root/.config/rox.sourceforge.net/OpenWith/.application_pet/Entpacken

No matter which language is set, the symbolic link still remains as: Entpacken.

I have inserted some extra scripts in L.A.S.S.I.E., to make it able to translate these symbolic links when switching language after first boot.

Look at the files in:

/usr/share/sss/openwith_strings
/usr/local/rshlpeu-scripts
/usr/sbin/fixopenwithfiles

Ciao RSH, thanks, this is a good idea and works fine :D
Now 2 scenarios:
1- I put the edited symbolic-links into langpack after that momanager has created the .pet or
2- make a script like Trash or Connect (working) in usr/local/app and put into langpack (but now works in half)

The same problems with Pfind. Pburn and Pmusic that not are located in /root/.config/rox.sourceforge.net/OpenWith/.

I'm going to fondle lassie... to read your scripts

****
I read your cd and I understand the concept, very useful and you did a nice job with LASSIE, congratulations

p.s.: I installed the Italian langpack in LASSIE and I wanted to warn you that some menu entries have not changed
'Sistema di archivi' and 'Grafici' are wrong.
'Sistema di archivi' (non-existent in Italian computer language) for its function is 'Utilità' and
'Grafici' (Charts) -- 'Grafica' is the right word.

Usually a Puppy hasn't symbolic links in the sub-dirctories of directory /root/.config/rox.sourceforge.net/OpenWith - or maybe even a very few of them.

The symbolic links of L.A.S.S.I.E. in sub-dirctories of directory /root/.config/rox.sourceforge.net/OpenWith are pre-installed by one of my used packages to create the L.A.S.S.I.E. 002 version. English terms are used for this.

To put a preselection of symbolic links for some existing functions into the language package might work. But I would offer a separate package to be installed first (right before installing the langpack).
I installed the Italian langpack in LASSIE and I wanted to warn you that some menu entries have not changed
'Sistema di archivi' and 'Grafici' are wrong.
'Sistema di archivi' (non-existent in Italian computer language) for its function is 'Utilità' and
'Grafici' (Charts) -- 'Grafica' is the right word.
L.A.S.S.I.E. is not able to be used for a new language package install, since this installation of a new language package will overwrite the modifications that I've made in some scripts.

E.g.: /pinstall_hacks.sh (but there are some more modifications)

If you would find some time, please do a remaster of L.A.S.S.I.E.

- just switch to italian language after first boot
- restart X and let the remaster (builds a new sfs only) to be executed
- reboot L.A.S.S.I.E. using the new created sfs
- check it for wrong italian translations
- edit the entries of the .it files in the subdirectories of /usr/share/sss
- package the edited .it files and send them to me

I'm not able to speak or read italian language. I've just tried to use some translations that I've found in the langpack as well as using google translate - so it never could be perfect in any way...

- just switch to italian language after first boot
- restart X and let the remaster (builds a new sfs only) to be executed
- reboot L.A.S.S.I.E. using the new created sfs
- check it for wrong italian translations
- edit the entries of the .it files in the subdirectories of /usr/share/sss
- package the edited .it files and send them to me
Don't worry, now I have Lassie installed with the italian langpack and I will alert you of any inconsistency, if possible the edit and send you the results. Remains very little to finish the langpack (3% circa) and then do it. :D

The langpack apart is also useful for other files not managed by moma for now, let's call ex: 'langpack extra' ...

That's really a surprise!

Thank you very much.

So L.A.S.S.I.E. 003 at least will have all the right translations for DE and IT.

Maybe I should ask for this at the other langpack topics for the languages used in L.A.S.S.I.E. ...

Already downloaded.
