We need a little more information, meanland22.meanland22 wrote:How Do I mount a Windows CD-ROM onto puppy linux? Iam not able to read my CD-ROM. Iam very upset and fusterated.
What is on the CD-ROM? Is it a Window$ application you are trying to run, or just data?
Mounting any CD-ROM is fairly straightforward using either MUT or Pmount from the Utilities menu. Mounting Window$ applications is not straightforward - if they can be mounted you would need to use Wine to run the applications.

file trouble
I just want to access data and how do I put it on puppy linux. I put a .pup file on my windows desktop.Now how do I get my file from the windows desktop onto the puppy linux desktop?
First the answer to your question:
You mount a CD-ROM by opening MUT (the "drives" icon on the desktop)
and clicking the mount button for the CD ROM.
===========
Now I don't know if what you asked is what you want to know because there is no such thing as a Windows CD ROM.
Plus you latter mention that you put something on your windows desktop and that has nothing to do with a CD-ROM.
So I am guessing that you are trying to tell us something but you don't know the right terminology.
If you can describe what you want to do we may be able to guess what you are trying to do and help you.

Ok, it sounds to me like you have Puppy installed to COEXIST with Window$ in the same partition? Is that correct?meanland22 wrote:I just want to access data and how do I put it on puppy linux. If that's the case, to get to your dotpup file from Puppy you need to boot into Puppy and mount your hard drive partition - probably hda1. Then you should see the files on your Window$ C: drive in a new window. Depending upon the version of Window$, you would then use that window to navigate to either your "documents and settings/{yourname}/desktop" folder or "c:/windows/system/desktop" (I think?) directory. There you see your dotpup file and be able to drag it from the window onto your Puppy desktop.
OTOH (on the other hand), if you simply want to mount a CD-ROM inside Puppy to retrieve data, put the CD-ROM in your CD drive and use either MUT or Pmount to mount it. That will open a window and allow you to drag the item either to your desktop or another window.
Hope that helps
