I added applications from PPM + peasywifi-1.7.pet and a few others.

It's working well.

I installed bluez with dependencies.

EDIT: the firmware in /lib/firmware is missing for this common chip. download it from https://raw.githubusercontent.com/cerne ... ath3k-1.fw

and place ath3k-1.fw in that directory. Also, add btusb to the BootManager & REBOOT.

I also loaded the devx and header sfs, and there was a REALLY long depmod (like a half a minute), so if the above doesn't work, try that also.

In my case, I finally got, after much time of frustration, and searching, it paid off:

I use frisbee to connect to my wifi, and now I see "pan0" as one of my network interfaces. I have not yet paired my iphone and tried to connect this, but since it is there, I assume it will. Step in the right direction anyway.

Oddly, I can get a Cirago BT USB device to work, but not the internal card on my Asus X101ch that uses the AR9285 wlan chip with ath9k (which does not load on boot and I had to add it w the boot manager).

If I google "bug AR9285 bluetooth combo card linux," I get a host of bugs involving combo cards and the bluetooth is kind of recognized but not useable. Booting Tahrpup loads ath3k, bnep, bluetooth, and I have added btusb to the boot manager because even though the BT module resides on the pci wlan card, the signals are USB. The device does show up here and there. It shows up with rfkill

All of these symptoms seem to follow the pattern for most of the bugs in significantly older kernels (like 3.1) so I am surprised to see it here with 3,12. Both BT and wifi work in everything else (Ubuntu 12.04 - 14.04 including derivatives), knoppix, and of Win 7.

ROX-Filer right click (/root/.config/rox.sorceforge.net/OpenWith) in TahrPup-5.8.2 is somewhat broken.

FYI: There is rox_filer-MIME-additional-20131225.pet used in 571JP.

I guess it's because firefox is running as user spot?
It doesn't seem to cause problems.

My USB pribter EP-704A works no problem installing epson_inkjet_printer_escpr-1.4.0.
1. Well, /root/.packages/user-installed-packages exists even with RAM mode

2. The 1st extra SFS is loaded at /initrd/pup_ro5. I think it should be ro_4. It will mess up when we install many(over 4?) extra SFS. I hope the init script in ramfs will be updated from slacko 6.0 beta thread.

3. When i press the power button at the initial desktop, it takes 1 minute before shutdown. Please updated with acpi-busybox-4.pet:

4. PPLOG fails, complaining 'Can't locate base.pm'.
I guess the package-templates/perl_tyny in the woof is something wrong.

5. I think the permission of /var/tmp should be the same of /tmp, 1777.

1. yes i had to do a hack in /root/.packages to stop libudev being installed when using the PPM as it completely breaks puppy ... probably should just add it to woof-installed-packages?

4. pplog needs /usr/share/perl/5.18/base.pm and /usr/share/perl/5.18/overloading.pm from the devx ... i'll put them in the main build.

i didn't realise ndiswrapper had a kernel module ,,,, i'll compile it for the next build, and ill probably up the kernel version to 3.12.22 or 3.12.23 as more bugs should have been worked out.

Here is a trick I use in woof.

Any package known to break the system i just delete from the package list. (And this really should be applied to petget when updating the databases too)

You can put it in a pinstall.sh but it should be a default in woof. I'll have a think about how to implement it. I suppose, to be more complete, it should be deleted from all the dependency lists too.

Maybe your idea is better, fooling PPM into thinking that it is installed already.. less work!
