slacko 570 alsa-tools

#1 Post by the-jub »

hi, I just installed slacko 570 and Im looking to get the envy or mudita mixer for my m-audio delta 44 sound card. In precise I got alsa-tools from the ppm and within that was the mixer for my sound card but no alsa-tools seems to be in the slacko ppm, even after an update. Anyone know how I can get the envy mixer?

I just installed slacko 5.9.3 and alsa-tools doesn't seem to be in the repo for that one either. :( ...

For versions of Slacko later than 5.3.1 ALSA support seems to have regressed.

On one machine with two soundcards sound no longer works. That's why I have stuck to Slacko 5.3.1.

One route would be to try to compile the various ALSA elements yourself.

This should be reported on the Slacko6 thread for resolution.Or post there with a pointer of this thread.

I'll post a link in the thread-

It was the removal of alsaconf that broke things for me, see the following links for details-
