Wget all 39 locales

#1 Post by Bert »

For wget or pwget users: if you would like wget to speak your language, instead of the default English, the "wget.mo" file for your language needs to be installed.
Some Puppy language packs have this wget.mo file included...
The quickest way to check is to just type 'wget' in a terminal and press enter. If you see this:

then wget.mo is not installed.

You can find the wget.mo fileshere

Hi...

Thank you for the helpful addition but unless I missed something, it looks like you need one for the United States. As you probably know, we tend to spell some words differently than the British. Examples would be...

1. UK: Labour ---> United States: Labor

2. UK: Colour ---> United States: Color

Please see here for more.

No worries Ardvark: wget is in US-English by default.
Using US-English seems like an unwritten(?) convention in the software world.

In fact one of the translation files in the list I linked to, is for en_GB: British English.
