replaceit 1.0.0

#1 Post by musher0 »

Hello, all.

Here is a fresh compile of replaceit-1.0.0. The source is here: http://www.pldaniels.com/replaceit/

@Flash: Searching the forum, I could not find if I had already initiated a separate
thread for this utility. If I did, please zap this message and indicate the older URL?
Thanks in advance.

Way simpler to learn than sed and awk, as far as text substitutions go. In most cases,
you actually don't need the complexity. So, here it is: replaceit. Doc page is included.

Do a couple of practice runs first on useless texts, and in no time at all you'll be ready
to tackle important tasks such as processing bash scripts.

Warning: Use only on straight text files (txt, sh, even csv). Do not use on formatted
files,
such as word processor files (docx, odt, etc.) or structured databases (sql,
dbf, gnumeric, etc.).

Enjoy! BFN.
