I have created these new Chinese Language pets for precise-5.7.3:
Traditional Chinese: precise-5.7.3-zhhk-8.0.2.pet (2.7 mb)
Simplified Chinese: precise-5.7.3-zhcn-8.0.2.pet (2.7 mb)
Please note that starting from version 8.0.0, the Chinese Language pets do not include Chinese font file and Chinese Input Method Platform. The recommended method to use these Chinese Language pets is to install the universal half-Chinese Language pets. SCIM Chinese Input Method platform:SCIM-147-en-zh-8.0.1.pet (20 mb)
(or any of their newer versions)
Known issue:
The English version of precise 5.7.3 has defined "Ctrl+space" as a hot key for executing the windows switching program. In order to retain the established tradition of using "Ctrl+space" as the activation key for both fcitx and SCIM Chinese Input Method Platforms, I have modified the hot key for executing windows switching program to "Ctrl+Alt+s". The change process has also been automated into a pet: precise-5.7.3-en-zh-patch.pet (1 kb).
To set up precise-5.7.3 for Chinese support:
a. to display Chinese language and have Chinese input, but keeping the desktop and menus in English
1. install one of the universal half-Chinese Language pets (either fcitx or SCIM mentioned above)
2. install precise-5.7.3-en-zh-patch.pet
b. to display Chinese language, have Chinese input and changed the desktop and menus in Chinese:
3. run 1 and 2 above
4. install one of the 2 Chinese Language pets for precise-5.7.3 mentioned above (either Simplified Chinese or Traditional Chinese)

I have created these new Chinese Language pets for precise-5.7.4-L:
Traditional Chinese: precise-5.7.4L-zhhk-8.0.2.pet (4.3 mb)
Simplified Chinese: precise-5.7.4L-zhcn-8.0.2.pet (4.4 mb)
Please note that starting from version 8.0.0, the Chinese Language pets do not include Chinese font file and Chinese Input Method Platform. The recommended method to use these Chinese Language pets is to install the universal half-Chinese Language pets. The required lowest versions of universal half-Chinese Language pets for precise-5.7.4-L are:
fcitx Chinese Input Method platform:fcitx-420-en-zh-8.0.2.pet (12 mb)
SCIM Chinese Input Method platform:SCIM-147-en-zh-8.0.1.pet (20 mb)
(or any of their newer versions)
Known issue:
The English version of precise 5.7.4-L has defined "Ctrl+space" as a hot key for executing the windows switching program. In order to retain the established tradition of using "Ctrl+space" as the activation key for both fcitx and SCIM Chinese Input Method Platforms, I have modified the hot key for executing windows switching program to "Ctrl+Alt+s". The change process has also been automated into a pet: precise-5.7.3-en-zh-patch.pet (1 kb, same as the one used for precsie 5.7.3 and 5.7.3L).
To set up precise-5.7.4-L for Chinese support:
a. to display Chinese language and have Chinese input, but keeping the desktop and menus in English
1. install one of the universal half-Chinese Language pets (either fcitx or SCIM mentioned above)
2. install precise-5.7.3-en-zh-patch.pet
b. to display Chinese language, have Chinese input and changed the desktop and menus in Chinese:
3. run 1 and 2 above
4. install one of the 2 Chinese Language pets for precise-5.7.4-L mentioned above (either Simplified Chinese or Traditional Chinese)
All the above Chinese Language pets (available in the Simplified Chinese or Traditional Chinese Language pets folders), special patch.pet and universal half-Chinese Language pets (available in the universal half-Chinese Language pets folder) are available to download from the public sharing folders. Please see the first post of this subject for the download addresses.
