opera has already a emulator, available for download on their website...
but this is an interesting idea!!!
does this works like a touch screen???
does this provide access to real drives???
does this can use real hardware (bluetooth, wifi, gps...)???

hi espertalhao04

i don't think that this emulator has those options, it does let you run old phone jar files though.
you might be interested in this http://news.softpedia.com/news/How-to-R ... 5152.shtml

the android sdk runs on puppy and has an emulator which does emulate touch screen etc, you need a pretty powerful computer, it was slow on my p4 3ghz. it also takes a good 3-4 hours to download and update all the necessary stuff

well, i have a pentium m 1.6ghz...
it's a single-core...
won't be able to run that...
but i have an android device...
don't need the emulator...
but the emulator sounds pretty interesting...
someone might want it...
(for testing purposes and other stuff like testing new firmware hack and that, depending on the emulator...)

Opera was bought by Facebook, so us heartbroken Opera users will need to find a new browser to swoon over.

...Which is why I've switched to Dooble.

Article from PCmag.com

Facebook is about to buy Opera.
http://www.pauzirame.com/news/facebook-buys-opera

So there's a few news stories about the issue.

The deal is very close to happening, unless the fanbase for Opera gets pissed off and goes on a rampage. Which I hope happens.

those informations are not true...
i can't believe a page who says that facebook bought opera and the other one said that facebook is "talking about buying opera"...
the truth is that there is nothing on opera blog...

I also heard it on Tech News Today and Twit.tv isn't known for spreading false information.

Companies rarely post closed door discussions online.

I really hope it isn't true because I love Opera. But if Facebook does buy Opera, it will be a dark day for the internet.

yes, it will...
i don't believe opera would ever give away what they did to facebook...
since the beggining they did the best browser!!!
the first one with multiple pages!!!
version 3 had tabs!!!!
and it was in 90's!!!
opera is the best web browser!!!
except for j2me version, which bolt browser won by far!!!
and i mean really far!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
like opera was a huge network eater and bolt could present desktop pages of any size with 0% of errors and perfect javascript and ajax execution, including hotmail desktop version and gmail desktop version with an incredibly fast speed!!!
the bolt browser project was shutdown..
:(

Opera CEO has been quoted to not want it to happen.
Can they still over run him? It is still only a rumor.
I use Google Search on Puppy Forum
not an ideal solution though
