SOLVED Slacko 5.7 (k3.2.29) driver r8192

#1 Post by fibbio76 »

Hi, I am new in puppy.
I like it but I have some problem with the wireless card of my old thinkpand x100E .

I installed LUPU lupu-528.005 and with the driver r8192se_pci-k2.6.33.2.pet it works.

I try to install Slacko 5.7 but the driver (r8192se_pci-k2.6.33.2) are not right for the kernel of SLAKO 5.7. (3.2.29)
This wireless card works also in mint 17 (thinkpand x100E)

I try to find in internet the r8192 pet for SLAKO 5.7 kernel but noting.
I do not know how to compile (and also I do not have the source code).

Please help me to find a solution for the wireless card,, or give me some good instruction on how to compile, (I am a newbie).

I try to attach the driver r8192se_pci-k2.6.33.2.pet but is too big 374kb

Thanks,
Fabio

Hi...

Welcome to the forum :)

The closest I was able to find was the r8192cu, which I highly doubt would work with your adapter. :(

This actually might be a firmware issue. From what I understand, Slacko 5.7 is notorious for having issues of this kind. You might be able to fix it by following rcrsn51's instructions here, or giving Precise 5.7.1 a try, instead. :)
