Barry

I have seen threads about compiler options. It might be useful to have the full list for 2. Also with a Barebones coming out, it might be possible to turn this option on if it is not.

I have also seen web pages on compiling the kernel and I believe Gentoo take this path. Maybe someone can advise . . .

I am unable to install using the wizard because i am unable to connect to the internet yet using my USB CDMA Phone Modem yet. (That is another thread :-))

So I have this webcam identified by Puppy as
P: Vendor = 0ac8
ProdID = 305b
Rev = 1.0
S: Manufacturer = Vimicro Corp
S: Product = PC Camera

Downloaded the appropriate driver from your website puppy2-gspcav1-20060925.tar.gz and followed the manual installation procedures outlined there.
Using Puppy 2.12 Seamonkey so replaced 2.4.x.x with 2.6.18.1 as per my kernel version.

Actual error message on typing "modprobe gspca" at console:
Error inserting gspca (/lib/modules/2.6.18.1/usb/media/gspca.ko): Invalid module format
