I made this script of <2kb to make a pupplet as an addon sfs... thought you might include it in a beta release for further testing (as if there aren't enough 3.x puplets already)

Also - let me know if you'd like a 3.X themed web desktop (either hosted or for inclusion)
Check out my github repositories. I may eventually get around to updating my blogspot.

3.02CE

#22 Post by straypup »

Glad to see things progressing. One of the problems with Puppy is the wealth of ideas being developed. Your 3.02 was one of the first serious attempts to make Puppy compatable wiht other distros. 4.xx took it into new heights of basically Puppy programs. Now Barry is working on the "Woof" series that will make Puppy compatable with Ubantu (which I don't think is a good idea ) Debian,Slackware, and hopefully inhouse Puppy development. This is one of the problems facing Puppy--to much fragmentation. I have always preferred the three series, but there is so much else to check out. Don't be discouraged, when the smoke settles there is room for all. Have a great day..........Stray

I think the pwidgets team will be more than happy to help if pwidgets is included. just post in the thread. if not, well you decide what's best

Been a while since I read this thread. Been trying to learn how to create my own style and am finally making some progress. Have always liked the 3.xx series as it is most responsive on my cobbled system. my problem now is simple although my settings are mostly saved, my local time isn,t and on reboot (live) reverts to base. Is there a way to make the setting permanent?
Thanks :) for the hard work Woof Woof

I have from time to time, but my goal is primarily to revive the remnants of the TalkingStick project.
Glad to hear it! Am I still in a job?

It looks like the project has moved on without you, so I'd guess the answer is probably "No".

Sorry Lobster but I think JBOB has lost his steam,He hasn't made a post since like Jan this year, I'm starting to think 3.0.2CE has a curse on it.

Looks like Robert is in business :)

I have consulted my imaginary psychiatrist (the one I keep in a cupboard) and she assures me
curses are mind figments just like her . . .

OK Robert, let's see what you can do. :)

Well lobster I have too much on my plate now and I'm moving forward, not backward. So i'm staying clear of any past releases like 3.02.

Still a Nice Useful Pup

#32 Post by darry1966 »

I have been using this lately having updated it with new Glibcs Gcc etc and some other minor updates and use it with my digital camera been having fun with it.

Available at Archive.org where there are many other nice retro Pups to play around with. I encourage others who haven't been to the puppy section at Archive.org to check it out.

I'm trying it now. It works well with Softmaker Office (so no need to install Open Office, Libreoffice, Abiword etc.).
Gigabyte M68MT-52P motherboard, AMD Athlon II X4 630, 5.8 GB of DDR3 RAM and a 250 GB Hitachi hard drive running Ubuntu 16.04.6, MX-19.2, Peppermint 10, PCLinuxOS 20.02, LXLE 18.04.3, Pardus 19.2, exGENT 200119, Bionic Pup 8.0 and Xenial CE 7.5 XL.

Thanks for all your hard work.

Puppyluvr did a good couple of variants of 3.01 (IcePup and Transitions); they're both smaller than EmSee (which is the only one of Stemsee's pups I know offhand) and I haven't seen either of them online for ages.

CORRECTION: Puppyluvr's got his own page and IcePup's on it, here;

Same here, and I have trouble getting a good "burn" out of the icepup iso too (the one on the page I linked to).
