eth0 and etg1 have gone missing

#1 Post by Moose On The Loose »

System:
Version 5.2.8.005 running on the latest Virtual box as a full install.

If I boot from a live CD and go to configure the network, the wizard finds eth0 and all is well.

If I boot from the "hard disk" image, the wizard shows eth2 as the only network interface. eth2 does work but it is worrisome.

It seems obvious that there must be a file somewhere that if remembering eth0 and eth1 as being some thing that it shouldn't be but I can find no help on this with google.

I think you need to look at what you have setup in Virtual box as the virtual network hardware.
The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.
