So, yes, yes yes to having the WAKE button back!

Then I guess we have to keep it. Wink Although I have no idea why it actually works.

Here it is. Install the PET and reboot.

hi rcrsn51,

could you point me to the sources for these drivers (and any relevant instructions). i can then include them in the new iso.

the new iso has the updated 3.14.20 kernel and i think they'll need compiling specifically for that. (peebee mentioned the wl driver needed recompiling)

thanks

From here. This is just a vanilla "make".

Re the new ISO: There are updates to PeasyScale, PeasyPort and YASSM.

The YASSM 2.7 PET has a post-install script that deletes previous YASSMs, because the program names all changed. When building a new ISO, you can remove it.

PostPosted: Thu 22 Jan 2015, 14:00    Post subject: File system errors after shutdown

This report is from the Bugs thread and seems to be the main issue left to be resolved.

Well.....After hopping onto tharpup 6.1 I have been noticing this for quite a while now, I thought this was some kind of fluke or something but after careful observation, I noticed this happens happens always , now I don't usually use Microsoft windows on my own laptop/desktop. But in office I have those in many of the desktops, the thing is when ever I boot up from tharpup 6.1 in laptop from my flash drive, after using and shut down, whenever I plug it in any of the desktops having microsoft windows it always shows that there are some file system errors or disk errors. I have tried it multiple times and on different version of windows.

I have tried this with combination of different puppy distros as well, this is only happens in tahrpup 6.1

I haven't dug any technical details about this yet. I would when I would get some time for myself. Thought of informing this first so anyone from the community could look up into it if they want. (images attached).

The same problem occurs with frugal install on hard disk partition shared between Vista, Tharpup and other frugal installs. It's a show stopper because the hard disk partition scanning and fixing are taking unacceptable long time at every Windows start.

The problem was already reported but it seems no sign of any attempt to be fixed.

My system for everyday use is Dpup Wheezy 3.5.2.8. When running it I plugged my flash drive with Tahrpup 6.0.1 install and checked my Tahrpup personal save file with fsck.

Code:
> fsck -y /mnt/sdb1/plt601/tahrsave.2fs
fsck from util-linux 2.21.2
e2fsck 1.42.5 (29-Jul-2012)
/mnt/sdb1/plt601/tahrsave.2fs: clean, 456/16384 files, 11537/65536 blocks

The personal save file seems to be clean but obviously the partition is not.

Tahrpup 6.0.1 is otherwise excellent. It is the first build after Dpup Wheezy 3.5.2.8 that works even on my 12 years old computer with P4 CPU and Radeon 9200 SE graphics card and I tried many of them.

I'm curious too whether anyone has any ideas what could cause this Tharpup frugal install partition problem.

same thing here...and I suppose it's a mark of sucess that windows is targeting tahr....apparently they feel no threat from precise, as there is no problem using a bootable usb drive

there's a slight bug on the iso ... the new drivers won't be available until after you've gone through all the first setup & closed the welcome window.. (so don't click on the connect icon that's on the welcome window, just close it and use the icon on the desktop)

That's the way I've always connected. Always had a wpa2 router, and startup connect doesn't like that.
BTW, online with new version of tahr 6.0.1 installed to external usb HD partion. Came here to download the no-pae version.

Tom

System totally froze when I clicked 'Save File', trying again to see if it duplicates.
Second try seems to start correctly.
BTW, am downloading from here, PAE went properly (a couple hours ago), downloading No-PAE, we'll see.
I do have a slower connection (768 dsl)

After 3 + hours of continuous downloading, while 2 (yes 2) movies were playing, one with the sound muted, and using ppm to download and install conky & FBReader, reading a book, I have to think that this is the longest Tahrpup has run on this computer.
I think the first attempt to download tahr 6.0.1 No-Pae.iso was just a glitch, nothing more.
Thanks to 666philb and all the others that helped with this project.

this happens if you install steam before making a savefile

look in /root/.local/ is there a broken symlink?
if so delete it
if you can find it, drag&drop the steam folder off the harddrive/usb back to /root/.local/ and choose 'link relative'

if you can't find it try steam again
