Audacity 2.1 - April64 - Wary64

#1 Post by don570 »

Here's a 64 bit package of Audacity 2.1 ---> Jan 10 2015

Available:
April64 Version 33MB
(untick box to avoid the Datafilehost downloader)

Available:
Wary64 Version 33MB
(untick box to avoid the Datafilehost downloader)

foreign languages 2.8 MB optional

How it was made:

1) Downloaded nightly version of Audacity --> Jan 10

2) Downloaded lots of 64 bit dependencies from Ubuntu Precise site

3) Used Alien2puppy script to make the folder of files from debian packages.

4) I moved library files out of amd64 folder and into /usr/lib/

5) I removed foreign language locales and made a separate pet package for them

6) Modified the desktop file

7) Checked for redundant libraries to make the final package smaller.

8 ) I can now make a pet package from folder with terminal command

Code: Select all

dir2pet audacity-quirky64-2.1
----------------------------------------------------------------------

There's one strange bug I've found

If I open up 2barks.wav file from reference folder and then do a effect..
Sliding Time Scale/Pitch shift

there is crash. However it may be caused because the sound is so short???
Other sounds don't cause the crash and I've found if I
change the speed of 2barks.wav with speed effect then use
Sliding Time Scale/Pitch shift --> It works correctly!!!

A Wary64 Version is available on first post.

It is made mostly from the April64 version so it has mostly
precise (64bit) librairies. However I found I needed new libav
so I took these from RedHat linux RPMs
