Puppy 2.12 eth0 issues on MaxData laptop

#1 Post by slapshot »

Hi all,

right now on my laptop I'm running Puppy210 Xvesa drv and it works well.
I'm now trying Puppy 2.12 (69Mb) with cd boot and I have this notes:

1. XOrg is now ok. With 2.10 I worked with XVesa
2. Cannot be able to see my network, to ping my router and, of course, to browse the net. I tried ethernet wizard (no wireless) and it recognizes a 3c50x network interface but it seems does not work.
3. Mut 0.1.1 could not recognize my usb external hd as 2.10 does !

I'm trying 2.12 not to migrate but just because I need its kernel to build up my EduPup from Puppy Unleashed.

Thanks.
Bye

Further details:

1. Puppy 210 is able to view my network also without launch a configuration of ethernet wizard, that is, it is able to see an active ethernet card I just setted my static ip address, gw and dns and it always is able to go on the Net. Anyway, lsmod gives me a via_rhine module loaded but in Puppy2.12 I tried to load this driver with the same result.
2. Usb external hd is a Mediacom.

Any ideas ?

Thanks
Bye
