can i program the hotkeys

What works, and doesn't, for you. Be specific, and please include Puppy version.

media keys don't work and all that works is the volume keys and the E-mail hot-key


any GUI program that can program em?

much help would be appreciated, 8)

Hello, TechnoGuy458.

It's indeed possible. You'll need the specs for the keyboard of your
portable, the "sym" name of the keys (or something like that), xev, and
a lot of patience. (Because there is no GUI for that.)

I did it for a MacroHard keyboard a couple of years ago. Would I do it
again? No. It's simpler to configure the Alt keys, etc., with the
keybinding utility offered by ROX-Filer or your window manager (jwm,
openbox, pekwm, etc.).

There's also a nice little program which you can run at the beginning of
your session and which does only that. (Name escapes me just now.)*
This one has sort of a GUI, btw.

hanks for the advice.

at least i got a Mac-like Dock set up. anyways i will look into it and see if i have the sanity LOL :roll:
