I have Tahrpup on USB. My question is that when running the OS, are there ANY files that are written to HDD or remain in the computer that could be interrogated at a later date by specialised software.

I have some legal document information that I would not like to be shared with anyone else.
Linux Tahrpup 6 kernel Linux 3.14.20 Installed on USB 64 GB
Computer Toshiba i5 C850 Laptop 4GB Ram

I do not know of temporary files written on hd if you use a usb stick: an exploit could be a leakage by the swap partition if there is a swap partition on the hd which you use. To do not use the swap partition:

Code: Select all

swapoff -a
Run:

Code: Select all

swapoff -h
for help using swapoff.

or create a small swap on your stick just for those applications that ignore convention.
