I assume no one else here uses wmx hence just your report and the rest of the silence is golden.

Other users of wmx might have read (and understood) the title of this thread. Wink

Many thanks, mikeb, that's very generous of you, but don't mind my
problem if it is not reported regarding use of your edit with major wm's
.

Meaning: I have to take a closer look at wmx-8, and discover how it
may conflict with the new ROX patch. Or maybe there's an actual spider
or ladybug somewhere inside this old & dusty ACER. Smile

L18L is right: the number of non-English-speaking Puppyists using wmx
AND experiencing this bug is going to be infinitesimal.

So don't lose sleep over my little problem, please, don't let any anxiety
build up, you did a terrific job! Smile

BFN.

why do you think we went without to get a boat...tis the only cure Smile

As for patches for the purists it would probably make sense to apply the lot anyway. Well its out there for the takers now.

Thread is open if there is any news.

@mikeb:
I just had a mouse freeze playing Bubbles using wmx and the OOTB
ROX-Filer. Same symptoms as described above with ROX.

So your edited ROX is not the cause. I still can't pinpoint it, but it's obviously
not your edited ROX.

The mouse came back on line in the Bubbles game after +/- 30 seconds.

BFN.

Ok thanks for the info.

Ah bubbles... actually it was twice as fast with X 6.8 (circa puppy 2.02) ...was no fun with later pups as simply not as snappy. Is there a 3d bubbles game?

For whatever reason that older build of X was amazingly fast or is it later builds became slow for a while... certainly the modeset bunnies (lucid +) are back to something more responsive...I notice the difference with the speed xfce4 starts up. Bubbles does not use gtk2 so eliminates that from the reason.

Ok that was a digression...

So short response ...I need to feel no guilt over ROX and can carry on bug fixing after a remaster.... too many eggs in one basket syndrome...there is always something that gets missed or behaves differently once incorporated in the sfs.

Also found the neat hack so ROX uses /usr/share/rox for its data as other distros are fond of doing and ROX-Filer can be run directly without needing a variable. Never did like that /usr/local/apps stuff but then I am not a puppy bunny.
