1.0.4 live CD can't detect my usb?

#1 Post by Guest »

For some reason Puppy 1.0.4 live cd can't initalize my 128MB Lexar Jumpdrive.

I get an error about the device not accepting the address. It then assigns a different address which also fails to be accepted.

Puppy 1.0.3 won't even boot. It locks up during boot saying that it can't get the irq off device 00:10.4 (which just happens to be the usb hub, I believe).

2.8MHz Celeron
AsRock MB Via chipset.

Any thoughts on this?

Hi

Is the Lexar JumpDrive plugged into a 2.0 USB slot or 1.1?

I don't know if that would make any difference, but I also have a Lexar JumpDrive - albeit 512K - but it is connect at 2.0, and I've not had the problems you describe.

It's 2.0.

I think it has something to do with my mother board or chipset and the way they handle irq's.

Just a guess, though.

Thanks for the reply.

I'm having the same problem on 1.05. It keeps trying and failing to assign an address in hub.c and usb.c. My USB mouse works plugged straight into my motherboard but my hub doesn't.
