XFCE now in quickpet Wink

It works great and looks very cool!, thank you Phil!, the only thing is when i start the OS, for a few seconds (one, two) shows the JWM, and later, the XFCE starts.

Tested live in a Hp 1000 with 8 gb RAM.

Not sure if it other programs are affected but should be mentioned that the Calibre install by quickpet results in segmentation default. Direct install from Calibre has the same result. Sad

I do not have Intel graphics so have no idea about this.

If I am understanding this correctly there is some kind of new Intel graphics driver for Linux.

Specific info at 01.org

Some discussion about Pburn in Tahrpup, in the Pburn topic.

http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?p=844524#844524

A way to make Pburn think ffmpeg is present in Tahrpup.

Hi All,

I thought I called attention to a full ffmpeg.sfs for Tahrpup yesterday. But can't find it. At any rate, see here: http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?p=845469#845469

Hi,
It works on my tarhpup6.0.2 not only for tas but for the others softwares also.

Hi,
Tas doesn't work because ffmpeg and some libraries lack.
I put together ffmpeg_2.5.2, libass5, libfdk-aac, libx265 in a pet and a sfs and it works fine.
ffmpeg is needed by pmusic and it's ok also for pmusic and a lot of other things.

I can't seem to compile anything, even though the devx sfs is duly loaded.

running "./configure" in the window's terminal returns "no such file or directory".
One successful case is when i've used the "create pet package" option, but it did not work for other files i've tried.

This is a frugal install, i've searched the posts, and can't find out what i'm doing wrong.

Thanks for any help.

hi westwest,

what package is this? got a link

is there a configure script in the package? as some apps use other tools to compile such as qmake or cmake

PostPosted: Sun 17 May 2015, 17:40    Post subject: pBurns gtk libraries

Hi B.K. Johnson & All,

Qualification: I am still running tahrpup 6.0., with the service pack upgrade to bring it to 6.0.2 level. While I don't think that presents a significant difference in this context, ultimately that's just a guess.

Using the ffmpeg4vivid.sfs and the add-libs4Tahrpup.pet I linked to in my previous post, all the dependencies of both pBurn and pMusic appear to have been met. pMusic works, and pBurns' dependency check from the Help menu reports "OK."

I'd make the gtk-libraries I used separately available. But the fact is, after installing the pet, all its libraries take up about 42 mbs of space: contracted that means about 14 mb, half of which are the gtk libraries. And then you'd have to figure out what symlinks to create to use them. And I'm not sure they would work alone: they may depend on libwxbaseu libraries, see below.

Consistent with your report that the precise libraries didn't work, I ran into a similar problem trying to build ffmpegyag for Tahrpup. I almost had it entirely functional under Precise. See, this short thread, http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=95958. I figured while the mechanics of ffmpeg were still fresh in my mind I'd try to do something useful. Note that in that thread I reported I had to change the libwxbaseu libraries.

So if someone is interested in repackaging just pBurn's gtk required libraries, perhaps the most efficient way would be to download the addlibs4Tahr pet, unpack it and copy over first the libraries you think you'll need, then others as they prove necessary.
