where to find pup001 |
|
Hi all,
I've just boot the Puppy CD for the 2nd time and see that files that I created or configurations that I changed in the previous session are still available and effective in this session. It's convenient. I've read that Puppy creates a file named pup001 on hard disk to store those information. So where can I find that file? On my hard disk, I have many partitions, including fat32 (/dev/hda1), ext3, reiserfs.
Thanks in advance.

when puppy is running
run the following in a terminal
#mount | grep \/mnt\/home
That's where pup001 is

It will likely be on the first vfat partition.
It will be at the top of the partition structure, as in hanging right off that C: or whatever, "not buried" in a bunch of folders.
Hope that helps.
edit; hey bladehunter, you must've responded while I was typing with my two fingere here

Thanks bladehunter and Bancobusto. I found out that the file was in /dev/hdc1 (also vfat).
