It's alright... I used Puppy recreationally for two or three years... now I use it every single day. Been about a year since I started that. Ain't killed me yet, and it feels good, so I think I'm alright...

you mean the file association is not working...the rox right click and run as setting?
Yes it was what i meant.Old Puppy need to be added some Mpeg libraries to run mpeg files. But i had a short look at that. it was not working on first try' should we say.. Toutou 4.3.6.
In my opinion, FFMPEG and Gnome-Mplayer are what I miss the more using Puppies series 4XXXX. Post about how to do are old, but succeed. Nevertheless it would be worth to study and actualize process.

libmpeg is missing in some yes... thought I added it to vlc. It is faster for DVD and the menus like it.

Gnome-mplayer..I found it annoying in the end and use Gmplayer but i do have a package or two using gnome-mplayer and the plugins that does not need the dumb gnome dependancies..I could dig them out.

Also have ffmpeg set that would work on 4.12 that are a bit newer..though you probably just want the gui like in lucid...it should also work for 4.12 ...its more about matching the command parameters of ffmpeg as they change.
I also made the lucid ffmpeg gui much faster to start...there was a bad delay in the combo box generation.

hard drugs .... you mean calcium?

As far as mplayer and Gmplayer go well this is a straight mplayer static build from patriot and works in 4.12 as well as the ffmpeg stated above

Works well with mp4's etc.
