Mate...Which exact Puppy version are you using.

Please reply back so we can get you sorted.

Linux network specs:

Ethernet controller:

This had wireless problems in Windows.

Is your wireless light showing.

In Windows....

" Click on the plus sign next to it, and it should create the drop down with Dell Wireless 1702.802.11b/g/n.

If you do see the adapter (possible you have a different model adapter, maybe 1703, but from what I can tell, most n5050s shipped with the 1702), right click on it and make sure it is enabled.
If not, you will see an option to enable it - do so. "

"Also, make sure it is enabled though the function keys (Fn - F2).
Some computers are configured to toggle the wireless on/off with F2 only, so try that as well."

Ubuntu on Dell

Says >>> Wireless

Qualcomm Atheros AR9285 Wireless Network Adapter (PCI-Express)

Bloody Dell crapware.

Open a terminal window and type lspci then hit Enter

That will show what hardware is on your PCI bus which should include the network card. The list might be long or short, my Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop lists 19 lines of info, the last one being the network controller. It should look like this but different
