A little library in New Hampshire up against NSA.

Sometimes, we feel activism in USA, such as what was common in the sixties and seventies, at the time of Vietnam war, is dead, or on its deadbed (whatever the government is saying is sacred these days).
A timid attempt by a small library in New Hampshire to oppose mighty NSA is proof to the contrary, in uphoding a decision to have a Tor exit node, to insure privacy against mass surveillance in USA, and for everyone needing Tor for work or for reporting violation to human rights in some countries, and for any legitimate needs.
Criminal wrongdoings was the reason given by NSA to stop the little library from setting up a Tor exit node, but true to the New Hampshire motto Live Free or Die, the small town opposed the NSA and made a clear and loud decision to set up their own Tor exit node, despite the opposition.
Timidly, activism in USA is back, sort of.
Live Free or Die
I kind of like the Piratebox initiative, which is not activism in a strict sense, but it does use today's technology to cut out the middleman entirely.

It wouldn't be a replacement for the Internet, as much as a nice addition to have on the side.
