Hello! First post and first time working with Linux, just fyi.

So I'm running Puppy Arcade, which is based on Slacko 5.9.3 beta, kernel 3.4.94, on a couple computers, one of them being a mid-2014 Macbook Pro with Retina. Unfortunately the wifi did not work out of the box, and despite a few days of Googling I still don't quite understand how I can get to fixing that. One solution I found was taking a driver that Apple supplied on a support disc and installing it using ndiswrapper, but Apple stopped giving out those discs a while ago. Is there any other way to go about it?

Also is there any way to get some of the functionality as a laptop that OS X offers on this Puppy? Things like battery life indicators, screen brightness, sleep mode when the lid is closed, etc.

Finally, super nooby question, but I got the .pet for Tuxcube (Gamecube emulator linked on the Puppy Arcade website) and double clicked to install it, but I can't figure out how to use it now Embarassed There are Tuxcube files in the filesystem now, but nothing I do opens any interface, nor is it in the rom-loader that comes with Puppy Arcade. How do I use it? (If this question is better suited for the Puppy Arcade thread I can move it there, just let me know)

This all seems to be issues specific to Puppy Arcade.
I would re-post this in Puppy Arcade topic.

People that know that version of Puppy will have more of a chance of seeing it.

Probably this Pup is too old for newer computer specs.

Chris.

In case Arcade emulators rather than puppy/linux is your interest, OpenEmu is a very nice open source multiconsole emulator for OSX that works fine on the latest Macs.

OpenEmu does sound interesting, thanks. I wanted to use Puppy Arcade though so I could have an emulation system that's as portable as possible, and it seems like there's no portable version of OpenEmu, unfortunately. You wouldn't happen to know of any portable emulators/emulator packs like OpenEmu, would you?
