Oh..CD is good. This very CD was used on my Puppy whippet 3.2GHZ rig....

Puppy boots for an install but gets lost somewhere...
Too bad. To summarize:
1. You can't boot the Live CD off your external drive.
2. The GRLDR loader couldn't find your menu.lst file
3. Manually typing the Puppy boot commands caused a kernel panic.
The only other thing I can suggest is to try some other bootable Linux CDs and see if they work. One choice would be the gparted partition editor.

Anyway, I didn't mention, that in troubleshooting this yesterday, I was able to get to the install menu's of VECTOR LINUX. I chose not to continue because I really liked PUPPY'S small size.
If I install VECTOR, would it be easier to then install PUPPY on top of it?
