I have to agree with Barry's release notes for 2.13 that more cooperative work is being done than before. More puppy users are stepping forward and helping shape puppy. From plinej creating puppybasic apps, to rarsa and his network-wizard and xdg-menu.

Barry said it better so maybe you should read, http://www.puppyos.com/download/release-2.13.htm

Will be looking forward to trying out 2.13

Running it right now, and hey, it's running my server even. Looks good so far, and I really like the new media apps.

Is there a mirror that has it yet? I am getting 1hour + download times on corporate LAN pipe. Seems kinda slow for 80mb.

Looks amazing dunno what it is but just looks more polished and the speed of the thing is a suprise too, about 15 mins ago opening opera took barely 1 second now opes as soon as I click it!

Nice work indeed.

I have made a .metalink to help share the load on the servers that are graciously hosting the newly released .iso

Looks really good !

I just downloaded, booted up, and it looks really good. I couldn't get 2.12 to recognize my ethernet connection on my new Thinkpad T60, but version 2.13 connected without a problem.

Thanks so much Barry !![/img]

It's up and running fine. I think I like the changes I've noticed so far, but the first thing I went to do was to try out this new PETget system. Problem is, the files don't appear to be on ibilio or nluug yet. I would have thought that the files would have been up for people to beta-test with before the release. Oh well, I can wait for them to be put up. Other than that, it seems you have done it again Barry!

Puppy 2.13 Final

#10 Post by Devildog »

I am new to Linux and have tried several of the Live CD distributions. I must say, that Puppy 2.13 Final is truly remarkable. It is compact, fast, fuctional and very intuitive.

I look forward to future versions as this wonderful distribution continues to evolve.

Congratulations to Barry and the many contributors to the Puppy Linux project. Thank you.
