Hey, my Wary PET is 2MB! :D

I didn't put any effort into trimming it though.

Barry, you could integrate this into Woof, could be a great addition to the devx. My dpup builds already have it :)

I used it for trimming, the scripts are "strippkg" and "splitpkg"

puplite 5.0 loaded this morning in my laptop for check-up.

#5 Post by Pelo »

Better than Geany ? So why geany had a long life and Bluefish disappeared from Puppy Linux menu ?
Trying it as puplite 5.0 loaded this morning in my laptop for check-up.

On newer Puppies, bluefish is available from PPM, but dependencies are huge ones, bluefish itself is only 697KB

tries to pupsave nice applications

#7 Post by Pelo »

Far from the eyes, far from the heart. But our german colleague (an emigrated french) cares about blue Fish. BlueFish is included in the most advanced Precise Puppy, Triton is his name.
French team either is in the last wagon of the train, or tries to pupsave nice applications, that some anglo-saxons would like to burry.
Slavo67, it's never to late to do well, and fullfil the lap... :)
I will link this topic to OUI, our ambassador for german world. Who never search for the answers before posting

Why not delete Geany from the ISOs ?

#8 Post by Pelo »

Geany is not very useful for me. Why not to delete it from the ISOs ? if needed Blue Fish can be installed, or Geany.. there are tools to modify your puppy, We are not here to improve or break our distro, we are here to use it !
geany: 1568 K
It's not a lot, of course, But i would try to replace it by Bluefish, to check if any trouble would be the result.

Hello all.

The latest Bluefish editor, as bluefish-2.2.10_exec.pet, is now available for
Puppyists here.

I compiled it from source on DpupStretch-7 (glib-2.24). This build is for
32-bit Puppies. Will not run on your Pup if it's a 64-bit or if the ldd version
on it is less than glibc-2.24.

The locales included in the above are EN and FR. Other locales for
Bluefish-2.2.10 can be downloaded from here.

Those pet archives will self-erase one month from today if no one
downloads them.

Do not enjoy, do not pass "GO", do not collect $200. ;)

Hi phat7.

Not better, different.

If you write lots of html code for Internet pages, bluefish is more focused
on that. So it's better for html, I'd say.

For the rest, for bash scripts and other computer languages, I haven't really
tried it. A real bluefish user is what you need to get a proper answer to
your question.

I compiled this new version because iguleder is not around anymore, and
some Puppyists do swear by bluefish.
