Adding a bash script to an ISO

#1 Post by LazY Puppy »

Hi.

My intention is to add a simple bash script to an .iso file.

The script should install all the files from the cd / .iso file (when burnt to a cd) (plus some more actions like formatting) to a usb flash drive.

I wonder, if this script will keep its original permissions and will remain executable after burning such .iso file to a cd?

Any knowledge available?

No, but I gave my old drum kit away for free to a music store collecting instruments for refugees!

It works for me using tools from PeasyDisc.

But if you are looking for a way to make the script auto-run when the disc boots, that's a different story.

No, auto-run is not intended. Just click and run.

Thanks for the reply.

That's a strange question to ask. If you are sitting in front of a Puppy machine, you could open the Multimedia menu and check yourself.

its not-- im not sitting in front of a puppy machine.

and even trying it for myself (which is generally a good idea, mind you) wouldnt get me any information people might have about their own firsthand experiences, or other details like "we are phasing it out though."

asking might not get anything either, but i first used isomaster in puppy, to edit an iso of puppy, and i recommended isomaster to someone recently. this seemed like the right thread in which to ask- since we are talking about ways to modify a bootable iso in/of puppy.

also its been a while since i tried doing that... about 10 years?
