Hi robwoj44; How about a screen shot so we can see it.?

Remember that Puppy forum pix are limited to 600x600
I use no more than 599x599 just to be sure it will show on the page.

A CD Channel ? i will verify it, dear attendant

#7 Post by Pelo »

A CD Channel ? i will verify it, dear attendant, i have never seen this bar before.
this morning, i start to explore again what nice stuff Puppy Linux could offer to listen Lou Reed with a nice GUI.
For the HQ Puppies. Gnome-Mplayer would be enough, as the titles of the greatest hits are shown when playing. That is not the case of several players, listing only the track number
I will feedback my results, dear Musher0, as we are used to, whatever success or failure.
I test with Slacko, (oh?), so there is not tons of applications available. But i want Slaxen, the nice french version, to be able to compete with Toutou 4.3.6, an old 4.3.1 renewed with WX-Musik.
Songbird, and nightingale (rossignol provided by Medor) are really nice tools, but Pelo did not find how to play CD.
Robwoj44 confirms that XiX Music Player is able to play and rip CD to MP3/FLAC.
XiX 2nd test this morning 10AM in France.

INSTALLATION:
Make sure the BASS libraries are installed. You can install these libraries easy by running the 'installbass.sh' script. This script will need your administrator password to copy the libraries to '/usr/lib'.
To make use of the MP3 or FLAC encoder you need to install LAME and/or FLAC
To rip DVD Tracks you will need to install MPLAYER
- Random Play always start with the first song. Will be corrected in next version
Translations:
Hungarian Language (Magyar), thanks to Bendeguz Gyonki
Italian Language, thanks to Giacomo Margarito
The pet provided in this topic seems to be serviceable, without any change, nice for our newbies.

XiX Music Player & ViVidPup 6.5

#10 Post by Pelo »

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '<' in /customers/e/f/7/xixmusicplayer.org/httpd.www/wp-content/themes/blackoot-lite/404.php on line 12
XiX Music Player & ViVidPup 6.5 can play together, in spite of this error.
One song, audio is ok.. For the second one, XiX is deaf and dumb :( The cursor advances on the line...

Facebook info
 for Musher0 :
At last a little update
- The Pop-Up menu "Add Album to Playing Queue" in Album Listbox now works.
- In the Fullscreen CoverPlayer you can now click on CD, Artist of Playing Queue Icon. You get a list of the songs, where you can select the songs. This will get some more functionality in the future.
- Looking for empty and wrong ID3 tags is already possible, but not yet possible to edit.

Changes available on sourceforge (for the brave who want to compile the newest version themselves). Binaries not yet available.

Hi, from developer

#11 Post by zittergie »

Hi,

I am the developer of XiX Music Player. One of the forum members pointed me to this forum, so I dropped by :)

I've installed Puppy Linux (Slackware) 64bit and tried out the download of XiX.
I found out that the libraries (for the 64bit) are not in /usr/lib, but in /usr/lib64.
Also /usr/local/lib exists, so I guess it is safe to copy the libraries to /usr/local/lib for the 32 and 64bit.
Also I got 'sudo' does not exist, so I had to remove the from 'installbass.sh' too.

I will update the installbass.sh, so it can work on different Linux adaption. This will make it easier to install new version.
I will also take a look at the PET file type to distribute as such.

BTW, comments, help, remarks are always welcome, but please keep in mind I am doing this in my scare free time :)
